A Day of Ministry Blessings
Sunday, February 8, saw a great deal of activity at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Memphis. In addition to the regular worship services of Holy Communion, the congregation welcomed ten new members who had recently completed the Connect Class, a “next steps” class for prospective members. After the brief rite of membership, they were introduced to the congregation by Senior Pastor Mark Goble. The Sunday worship service was also enhanced by the beautiful voices of K-4th grade students of CTK School as they kicked off “Celebrate CTK School Week.” Beautiful banners representing each grade from Preschool to 8th hung from the balcony, each carrying out this year’s theme of “In the Name of Jesus.” Meanwhile, the Tanzania Mission Team held a bountiful Valentine Bake Sale with proceeds going to defray the costs of travel for their spring mission trip. Additionally, the members were very pleased to host the Youth & Family Ministry candidate Paige Mielke with a Meet and Greet, following a full weekend of getting-to-know-you activities. It was a Sunday exemplifying the many ministries of CTK, involving outreach, discipleship, mission, fellowship, service, and worship.
